The season has started. The Avalanche are 3-1-1 only five games into the season and they're adding more fire power to their offensive roster.

Colorado acquired forward Marko Dano on waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Monday, Oct. 15.

The 23-year-old played in 23 NHL contests for the Jets during the 2017-18 season, tallying three points (2g, 1a).

Dano was a first round pick (27th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft, selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets. So far in his NHL career he has totaled 45 points (19g, 26a) in 130 career NHL games with Columbus, the Chicago Blackhawks, and Winnipeg.

The Eisenstadt, Austria, native grew up in Slovakia and has represented the country since he was a teen in multiple events including the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship. He lead Slovakia with nine points (4g, 5a) in six tournament contests.

Dano has also spent time playing in the KHL and AHL.
