It's never too early to start talking about college football, which is exactly what happened in Colorado Springs on Tuesday afternoon.

Five of the state's head coaches -- University of Colorado's Mike MacIntyre, Colorado State University's Mike Bobo, Air Force's Troy Calhoun, CSU - Pueblo's John Wristen and University of Northern Colorado's Earnest Collins Jr. -- discussed the upcoming season at the annual Sports Corp College Football Kickoff Luncheon.

MacIntryre said he would like to focus on his own team, but all of the attention surrounding CU has focused on starting the season against their two biggest rivals.

"They're going to hear about CSU and Nebraska here, but we have to focus on us and that'll help us out in those games," MacIntyre said.

CU will open its season against Colorado State on August 31, but the Rams will already have a game under their belts by that time. CSU plays on day one of the college football season for a second straight year as they open against Hawaii on August 25.

"It is a little bit of a challenging thing with a short summer for our guys," Bobo said. "That non-conference schedule is brutal to be honest so I hope we have enough healthy bodies to go into conference play."

The Rams were 7-6 for a third straight season and were the only bowl team from the state of Colorado. CU and Air Force finished one win away from qualifying.
