Country Day grad Byron shining in NASCAR Trucks Series

Even at just 18 years old, William Byron has already lit up the NASCAR Trucks circuit with four wins so far this season in just 11 races.

Mooresville- Even at just 18 years old, William Byron has already lit up the NASCAR Trucks circuit with four wins so far this season in just 11 races.
I don't have a number in mind but I want to get a lot more wins this year," said Byron. "Hopefully we can break some more records and we're on the way towards that."

You should also factor in that Byron is also currently a student taking online classes through Liberty University. That is after he just recently graduated from Charlotte Country Day.
"It was difficult with high school but now that I'm in college, they're really able to work with me," said Byron. "Even with as busy as it gets, I'm able to fit that in with my time."

Byron certainly became a local celebrity with his former classmates who still keep in touch with him through social media.
"I get a lot of Snapchat stories of people watching the race," said Byron.

His success is fueled by a great teacher too. Defending Cup champ Kyle Busch is a pretty good role model as his team owner.
"He's winning a ton of races and that's helpful for us younger drivers," said Byron.

The business communications major has big goals too, with Cup titles of his own hopefully in his near future.
"If I could keep doing that for a career, that is what I want to do and win championships," said Byron

His next race is coming up this weekend at Pocono where he searches for win number five.
