Former Mountain Vista soccer star, Mallory Pugh stars in Gatorade ad

A Gatorade spot featuring former Mountain Vista soccer standout and U.S. Women's Soccer team member Mallory Pugh made its debut on June 18.

KUSA - Former Mountain Vista soccer star Mallory Pugh is the star of a new Gatorade spot.

Pugh, a Washington Spirit forward and U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) member is expected to take the US women’s soccer team deep in the 2019 tournament.

“I grew up drinking Gatorade, so it’s an honor to be joining the brand roster alongside game-changing athletes like Mia Hamm, Serena Williams and Abby Wambach,” said Mallory Pugh in a press release.

She made her debut with the national team against the Republic of Ireland in January 2016 before graduating high school; a game where she also scored her first international goal.

Pugh also participated in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, where she played in three games. She became the youngest United States player to score a goal in the Olympics after hitting the back of the net in the 59th minute of their second match against Columbia.

Her new Gatorade ad launched worldwide on Monday, June 18.
