The No. 2 Discovery Canyon Thunder and the No. 5 Thomas Jefferson Spartans were two of four 3A teams heading into this week's match-up with undefeated records (6-0).

The Thunder took advantage of a Spartan onside kick to start the game. The great field position eventually evolved into a 7-0 lead on their first drive and they didn't look back.

Discovery Canyon quarterback Zack Anderson had a great night through the air, while Marshall Pike took care of business on the ground.

Even Thunder kicker Griffin Anderson had his fair share of big plays, not only did he send majority of his kicks to the back of the endzone, but he nailed a 51-yard field goal to end the first half for the 20-8 lead.

When the clock struck zero, Discovery remained on top despite a Spartans push to the finish. Thomas Jefferson takes their first loss 39-22, while the Thunder remain undefeated.
