The Kent Denver Sundevils sought redemption after falling to Colorado Academy in the 3A Boys Soccer Semifinals in overtime last season, and it just so happened they were facing the defending 3A State Champs, Liberty Common, on Saturday.

Both teams displayed their offensive talent throughout the game; however, no one could get on the board, at least not until the second half.

When the goals came, they came in a flash and from one player, Kent Denver junior Pace Billings. He netted the first in the 33 minute of the second half after catching a pass in the box for the open shot.

The second came off a free kick header in the 15 minute of the second for the 2-0 lead.

Liberty Common would strike on a free kick of their own soon after, Elliot McCormick booting a kick into the box for Michael Yeh to kick in on a rebound off the goalkeeper.

Despite a last minute surge, Kent Denver brought back the state title hardware to the Sundevils community after a 2-1 win in regulation.
