Mullen's Jovan Tafoya is the definition of a student-athlete.
As a student at Mullen High School, Tafoya has taken multiple Advanced Placement courses, one his sophomore year, three his junior, and four in his senior year.
Tafoya had applied to MIT and Notre Dame -- among others -- and, oh yeah, seven of the eight Ivy league schools: Columbia, Princeton, Yale, Brown, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, and Harvard. He was accepted into six and he came to 9NEWS with three choices in mind.
The senior was also the starting quarterback on the Mustang football team that finished 9-3 this season after falling short in the quarterfinals of the 5A playoffs.
Tafoya had a .478 completion rate, threw for 1,275 passing yards, and recorded 19 touchdowns in seven games during his senior year.
Aside from football, the 5-foot-11 athlete is also a pitcher and outfielder for the Mustangs in the Spring.
Live on 9NEWS Tafoya announced whether he would join Princeton, Columbia, or Brown in the Fall.
Take a look to see where he will go!
