No. 4 Cherry Creek tops No. 3 Grandview with second half surge

After a strong second half, the No. 4 ranked Cherry Creek Bruins were quick on the transition against No. 3 Grandview for the 55-48 victory.

A second half momentum shift proved the difference for the No. 4 Cherry Creek Bruins against the No. 3 Grandview Wolves on their home court Monday night.

The Wolves took an early lead and held it into the second half. Their first half success came from finding the Alisha Davis or Lauren Betts inside and finding Landri Hudson outside for the three.

At half Grandview lead 27-20.

Second half, Cherry Creek came out with speed, taking advantage of the fast break and making the Wolves pay. Junior Jana Van Gytenbeek could not be stopped, hitting her shots from the outside and also getting up and under the defense on the inside.

Cherry Creek would tie the game 34-34 with a little more than a minute left in the third quarter and the 38-34 lead entering the fourth.

The Bruins shined in the fourth keeping Grandview outside and off the scoreboard more than they've been accustomed to most of the season.

After the final buzzer sounded, Cherry Creek lead 55-48 in a tough top five victory.
