AURORA – The Overland basketball team started off the new year on the right foot.
In their first game back from winter break, the Trailblazers defeated host Eaglecrest 64-50 to kick off Centennial League play.
It was also a top-10 showdown as Overland was ranked No. 8 in Class 5A, while Eaglecrest was No. 10.
The Trailblazers got off to a quick start in Thursday night's victory, outscoring the Raptors 21-9 in the opening quarter to set the pace for the game.
Overland improves to 8-2 overall on the season, 1-0 Centennial League. Eaglecrest falls to 5-5, 0-1 CL.
