The Colorado High School Activities Association continues to expand programs offered to student-athletes within the state.
After adding three additional sanctioned sports (boys volleyball, girls wrestling and unified bowling), the Association is also introducing Esports as a pilot activity this fall.
According to Ryan Casey, CHSAA's Director of Digital Media, more than 22,000 students around the state currently participate in Esports -- an online competitive gaming community.
"We're just excited to see how it's going to go, and see if it will work," Casey said.
