KUSA — We're off and running! The high school football season got underway this week, with a number of rivalry games and ranked match-ups taking the spotlight.
In 5A, top ranked Cherry Creek faced Doherty on the road, No. 2 Columbine hosted Denver East, and the Boulder and No. 5 Fairview rivalry helped get the ball rolling in week one. Our other 5A games included George Washington versus Niwot, and Horizon versus Fountain-Fort Carson.
In the 3A classification, the defending champs Pueblo South (No. 4) traveled north to take on Holy Family.
