KUSA — The Sunday morning Prep Rally was packed full of highlights from the Colorado high school state football tournaments, including four new state champions.

In the 2A state title game, La Junta outlasted Platte Valley 7-3, to take home its second football championship in the past three years.

The Limon Badgers are now have 18 football titles -- the most of any school in Colorado -- after defeating Strasburg for the 1A football championship. Limon finished the season with a perfect 13-0 record with the 13-7 victory.

In Julesberg, Sedgwick County claimed its fourth straight 8-man football title, after defeating Hoene 58-14.

To round out the state championship games, Stratton/Liberty avenged their loss in the 6-man title game a season ago, defeating Kit Carson 57-18.

In addition to the state title games, the Prep Rally also featured several semifinal game highlights from the 5A, 4A and 3A classifications including:

  • 5A: Valor Christian vs. Grandview
  • 4A: Skyline vs. Ponderosa
  • 3A: Erie vs. Pueblo East
