DENVER — The Yuma Indians are once again wearing the Class 2A volleyball state crown.
In convincing fashion, No. 1 Yuma swept No. 2 Denver Christian in three sets (25-21, 25-14, 25-14) on Saturday night at the Denver Coliseum in the championship match.
It is the third state title for the Indians, whose most recent crown was won in 2015.
"We didn't make it two years in a row, this year we finally did," senior Chasey Blach said. "It's really special. It's been so much fun. We've been working for it all season long."
Overall, Yuma went 28-1 on their championship run, losing only to University during the regular season.
Denver Christian finishes runner-up with a 24-2 record.
