Rockies sign 3-time All-Star reliever

The Rockies had to place Tyler Kinley on the 60-day injured list.

DENVER — The Colorado Rockies have signed left-handed relief pitcher Brad Hand to a contract.

The Rockies said Hand's contract is for the 2023 season.

A three-time All-Star, Hand went 3-2 with five saves and a 2.80 ERA in 55 appearances for Philadelphia in 2022.

Hand has played 12 seasons with Florida/Miami (2011-15), San Diego (2016-18), Cleveland (2018-20), Washington (2021), New York-NL (2021), Toronto (2021) and Philadelphia (2022).

Hand, 32, has recorded seven 20-plus save seasons with 129 total saves from 2017 to 2022. Hand made the All-Star Game in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

To make room for Hand on the 40-man roster, the Rockies placed right-handed pitcher Tyler Kinley on their 60-day injured list.
