LOS ANGELES — Coloado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story was removed from a critical game Monday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers with an apparent back injury.

Story swung and missed on a 2-1 pitch from Hyun-Jin Ryu in the fourth inning before walking a few steps up the third base line. He got into a crouch and leaned on his bat as he was met by manager Bud Black and a member of the Rockies' training staff.

He exited after a short conversation. Pat Valaika finished his at-bat by flying out to left field.
