Ali Farokhmanesh and family recreate his March Madness moment 10 years later

For as long as the NCAA basketball tournament exists, Ali Farokhmanesh knows what will happen every March.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Ten years ago is when Ali Farokhmanesh became a household name for sports fans.

March 20, 2010.

That's the day Farokhmanesh hit one of the most memorable March Madness shots, a late 3-pointer to boost little Northern Iowa past No. 1-seeded Kansas.

A decade later, there's no NCAA tournament because of the spread of the coronavirus, but thankfully Farokhmanesh has a squad to help him recreate the moment.

Ali — an assistant coach on the Colorado State basketball team — his wife Mallory and their kids Tai, Mila and Liam re-enacted the moment in a hilarious video.
