A bid to bring the NFL Draft to Denver is getting serious.
A contingent representing the city of Denver and Denver Broncos were in New York on Wednesday to pitch bringing the NFL Draft to the Mile High City.
Members from Visit Denver along with Broncos’ chief executive officer and president Joe Ellis and director of partnership marketing Sandy Young were among those who made the trip to New York.
“Along with Visit Denver, we've expressed our interest in hosting a future NFL Draft for several years,'' said Patrick Smyth, the Broncos' executive vice president of public and community relations. "We had a productive visit with the league office on Wednesday to discuss the opportunity and look forward to further dialogue.''
Several other teams/cities are interested in hosting the NFL Draft with Houston and Cleveland recently meeting with the league in New York to submit their bids.
It is believed 2019 or 2020 might be Denver’s best chance of hosting the draft.
