COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids have acquired defender Keegan Rosenberry in exchange for $150,000 General Allocation in 2019, $50,000 Targeted Allocation in 2019 and $100,000 General Allocation in 2020, plus $100,000 in conditional payments, the soccer club announced Wednesday.
Rosenberry, who has spent his three MLS seasons with the Philadelphia Union, is the sixth addition to the Rapids’ roster since the end of the 2018 season.
“In Keegan Rosenberry we are very excited to welcome one of the best young right backs in MLS to Colorado,” said Rapids Executive Vice President & General Manager Pádraig Smith, in a news release. “He is a technically gifted and strong defender whose passing from the back will fit perfectly with our style of play.”
Rosenberry, 25, was the third overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft and has made 80 appearances for the Philadelphia Union.
“I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my professional career,” said Rosenberry, in a news release. “The Rapids organization have shown massive trust in me by bringing me here and I’m ready to get to work.”
