The Colorado Rapids selected wingback Kip Colvey with the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 MLS Waiver Draft on Wednesday.
Colvey was a member of the San Jose Earthquakes since March 4, 2016 when he was a third round pick in the MLS SuperDraft.
The 23-year-old reunites with Rapids Head Coach Anthony Hudson, his coach with the New Zealand national team.
Colvey will be added to the Rapids' supplemental roster, the club said in a news release.
