Mexico vs. Colombia soccer match set for Empower Field in May

Soccer powerhouses Mexico and Colombia will meet in Denver on Saturday, May 30.

DENVER — Soccer powerhouses Mexico and Colombia will compete this summer in Colorado, Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) announced Tuesday.

As part of the Mexican National Team's annual U.S. Tour, Mexico and Colombia will compete at Denver's Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday, May 30.

Tickets for the Empower Field at Mile High match go on sale Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com

Colorado Rapids and MexTour ticket presales begin Tuesday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at Ticketmaster.com.

Both teams are expected to bring their top rosters as they prepare for international competitions over the summer, according to SUM.

Mexico and Colombia last met in 2012 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

The Mexican National Team last played in Denver on June 19, 2019, defeating Canada 3-1 at Empower Field at Mile High in a group stage match of the Concacaf Gold Cup. Denver has hosted Mexico on several occasions at Empower Field and at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
