Denver — At DU he was the best ever.

There has never been a college lacrosse face-off specialist better than Trevor Baptiste. He's not winning in the MLL at the ridiculous rate he was in the NCAA as a Pioneer, but Baptiste is still doing more than holding his own at Boston.

"Everyone is so good in the MLL," said Baptiste. "It's not just the face-off guys but everyone all over the field, so it's been an adjustment."

The Fourth of July brings Baptiste back home. Well not home, but the place where he played for four years.

"It feels great to back," Baptiste added. "I've been in Denver here and there as it's been a little bit of a home base for me throughout the summer, but it's great to be back on the field and be able to play."

Baptiste may get hear some "boo's" now that he's a bad guy, but he's only a visitor because Boston was so bad. That's how they were able to take Trevor as the number one overall pick.

Baptiste may no longer live in Colorado but he will always be a Pioneer.

"We always say, 'Pio until I die-o,' so you know it's definitely a special place to me and I definitely consider it a home away from home," he said.

Boston and Baptiste will take on the Outlaws, winners of five in a row, on the Fourth of July at 7 p.m.
