Here’s a heads up if you need to go to the High Country on Monday: A stretch of westbound I-70 will be closed at the Silverthorne interchange while crews patch the asphalt.
The work will start at 10 a.m. and is expected to last until 2 p.m., according to Colorado Department of Transportation spokesperson Bob Wilson. The operation will take place on the bridge’s two lanes crossing U.S. 6 east and Highway 9 north.
All westbound traffic will be detoured from I-70 to Loveland Pass during the closure. Cars will get back onto the interstate just west of the work zone at Silverthorne.
Wilson said the work is taking place Monday due to a favorable forecast. Crews hope to be done before more snow moves in.
