JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo — Rescue workers performed a high-angle rescue Sunday afternoon after an SUV rolled into Clear Creek near U.S. 6 just west of mile marker 271, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said. 

CSP Cpl. Ivan Alvarado said the incident happened just after 3 p.m. A 27-year-old man was the only person in the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital with a broken ankle.

U.S. 6 stayed open during the rescue operation.
