KUSA — Eastbound I-70 is back open in Summit and Eagle counties after spin-outs and crashes prompted multiple closures.

The first crash, which involved a semi-truck and 20 other vehicles, was reported at about 1 p.m. Saturday just east of Frisco as heavy snow and winds started to pick up in the area.

CSP said several minor injuries were reported.

CSP tweeted just before 4 p.m. that that crash had been cleared, but eastbound I-70 remained closed at Frisco and Silverthorne due to multiple crashes and spin-outs. Eastbound I-70 at Vail and at Copper Mountain was also closed. All of those closures have been lifted.

Shelters were set up for stranded drivers in Silverthorne, Frisco, and Vail.
