Motorcyclist killed in Monday evening crash

The crash happened in the 9200 block of Heinz Way.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) is investigating a crash that happened in the 9200 block of Heinz Way on Monday night.

According to police, there was a report of a motorcycle driving southbound in the area at about 7:20 p.m. The motorcyclist was traveling very fast and failed to navigate a turn when they struck a parked vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

It is unknown if alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, according to police.

Police did not have any additional information to release about the crash as of Tuesday morning.

The name and identity of the motorcyclist will be released by the Adam's County Coroner, once a positive ID has been made and next of kin has been notified.
