Circle K to offer gas discount on Thursday

Circle K has announced a "Fuel Day Pop-up" for three hours on Thursday.

DENVER — Circle K will offer a discount on fuel at more than 360 stores throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

Circle K announced on Wednesday that it will offer 40 cents off per gallon on fuel between 3 and 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.

The discount will be available at over 360 participating Circle K stores across the Rocky Mountain region, including Denver and Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque and Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The fuel sale will only be available at participating Circle K locations selling either Circle K-, Circle K Valero-, and Circle K P66-branded stations.

"Our biggest commitment to our customers is providing value without sacrificing quality," said Mark Tate, Circle K division vice president, Rocky Mountains Business Unit. "With events like this, we’re making good on that commitment, while keeping our customers on the move."

Customers can find their nearest participating location using the Store Locator on CircleK.com.

Where to find the cheapest gas in Denver

Average gasoline prices in Fort Collins have risen 9.4 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.04 a gallon on Monday, Feb. 13, according to GasBuddy's survey of 119 stations in Fort Collins.

"For a second straight week, the national average price of gasoline has declined, alongside the price of diesel which has fallen to its lowest level in nearly a year," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

Gas prices in Fort Collins are 84.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 76 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

"While diesel prices likely have a long way to fall as inventories continue to improve, gasoline prices in some areas have gone up in the last weeks as the transition to summer gasoline is just around the corner," De Haan said. "In addition, GasBuddy data shows that gasoline demand has risen for the third straight week, a trend that will likely continue as we gradually see temperatures warm and the heart of winter moves to the rear view. Also, refinery maintenance season will soon be in full force, likely putting upward pressure on prices. On average, gasoline prices rise between 35 and 85 cents per gallon between March and Memorial Day, so motorists seeing prices fall should enjoy the declines while they last."
