It's so hot out, Parker Road is buckling in protest

Careful driving on the road - this is no joke!

Road problems seem to be Tuesday's M.O.

Outside of a hay/semi fire closing Interstate 25 near the Denver Tech Center and a big crash shutting down the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at Colfax Avenue in Golden - Parker Road is buckling due to the high heat.

According to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, northbound Parker Road just north of Broncos Parkway has buckled due to the high heat.

There's no word on if law enforcement will put up some signs to let motorists know - at least one has replied to a Sheriff's Office tweet saying the unexpected bump "hurt."

AccuWeather spoke to the Nebraska Department of Roads who told them as the road expands in changing temperature at a crack where moisture has seeped in, a buckle or warp can be expected.

The Department of Roads told AccuWeather most buckling or warping happens during extreme heat.
