DENVER — More than 5.5 million passengers passed through Denver International Airport (DIA) in March 2019, the busiest March in the airport's history.

DIA says passenger traffic at the airport was up more than three percent over March 2018, even with a strong winter storm that impacted 2,200 flights on March 13 and 14.

DIA also adds that January to March was the busiest first quarter in the airport's history.

“As we look forward to the busy summer travel season, we anticipate many more days and months of record-breaking growth,” said Kim Day, Denver International Airport CEO. “Our airline partners continue to add routes and expand to new destinations, providing Denver residents even more opportunities to travel and do business across the country and the globe. But that also means travelers should plan to arrive early and enjoy our many restaurants and shops.”

DIA had nonstop service to 192 total destinations in March 2019, 19 more than in March 2018.
