Denver hits 80-degrees, breaking a 75 year old record

Temperatures soared into the upper 70s and 80s across the Front Range Wednesday due to warm downsloping winds. The unseasonably warm weather will come to a screeching halt Thursday as a storm digs into the state.

Daytime highs will fall nearly 40 degrees from Wednesday to Thursday.

Snow will move into Western Colorado Thursday morning, bringing 5 to 10 inches above 8,000 feet. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect Thursday for the majority of northwestern Colorado.

The Denver metro area could see light snowfall Thursday evening, but it won't accumulate to much. A trace to 1 inch is possible across the city with slightly higher amounts in Northern Colorado.
