Firefighters rescue people from cars stuck in standing water

A severe storm moved through the Denver metro area Friday afternoon, causing roads to flood just before rush hour.

LONE TREE, Colo. — South Metro firefighters rescued people from two cars that were trapped in standing water on Friday.

The cars were stuck in different locations. Two people were in one car on Yosemite Street, just south of C-470, and one person was stuck in another car near Phillips Avenue and Niagara Street.

Crews said they were able to safely rescue all of them.
