Mountain snow, metro rain possible Friday

Only a few showers and cooler temperatures for Denver today but rain, snow and colder weather arrives Sunday night Into Monday.

DENVER — FORECAST BY: Ed Greene

TODAY AT A GLANCE:  The first and weaker system is bringing good snows to the high country and the northern and central mountains are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6am tomorrow for up to 10” of snow above 9000 feet. A few showers may drift out of the mountains and over the east as Friday goes on.

The next system will continue moderate snow over the mountains Sunday with rain showers for the greater metro area and the eastern plains Sunday night into Monday. Higher elevations such as the foothills and Monument Hill/ Palmer Ridge could see accumulating snow or a rain-snow mix. By the middle of next week, Denver will warm back to near 70 degrees.
