TODAY: Cooler, more humid air will keep us far below record setting highs. The unstable air will also bring a chance of moderate to heavy storms from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There is a chance for these storms all along the I-25 corridor. Current model runs suggest storms initiate along the Palmer Divide, near Castle Rock, around 4 p.m.
Storms are more likely near the Denver metro area by 6 p.m.
Most thunderstorm activity will be on the eastern plains by 9 p.m.
However, the storms will not clear the state until the overnight.
**Please keep in mind that these times and storm locations are approximate. For your safety outdoors, be on the lookout for strong storms between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. along the Front Range today.
These storms could contain large hail, damaging winds, a lot of lightning and brief periods of heavy rain.
WEDNESDAY: Much more humid, cloudy and cooler with afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Locally heavy rain is possible. An Isolated severe storm is possible. Morning lows from 56° to 61°, afternoon highs from 79° to 84°.
RAIN POTENTIAL: Some of the storms during the evening may also bring us locally heavy rain up to 1 inch or more. Storms are expected to be possible until at least 10 p.m.
AIR QUALITY: Cooler, stormy conditions will keep our air quality in pretty good shape during the day today.
THURSDAY: Party cloudy with a chance for an isolated weak thunderstorm mainly during the evening. Morning lows from 53° to 57°, afternoon highs from 84° to 89°.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with a chance for a gusty thunderstorm in the afternoon. Morning lows from 57° to 62°, afternoon highs from 83° to 88°.
SATURDAY: Sunny, windy and hot. Morning lows from 58° to 63°, afternoon highs from 90° to 95°.
SUNDAY: Sunny, windy and very hot. Morning lows from 63° to 67°, afternoon highs from 95° to 99°.
MONDAY: Sunny, windy and very hot. Morning lows from 64° to 69°, afternoon highs from 93° to 98°.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy and hot during the day. Windy and cooler with thunderstorms for the evening. Morning lows from 64 to 67, afternoon highs from 91 to 95.
