SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH:
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for far northern Colorado until 11pm. Large hail up to 2.5 inches in diameter and damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible.
TUESDAY AFTERNOON: Highs Tuesday will be well above the average of upper 80s, but should stay below record-breaking territory. The record high for August 20th is 99° last set in 2013.
By the late afternoon there's a chance for an isolated, gusty thunderstorm with another round of storms into the early evening. Most of the activity will be east of the metro area.
The severe threat today includes the northern Front Range and far Northeastern Colorado.
TONIGHT: Thunderstorms will continue to move out onto the eastern plains. A brief, isolated thunderstorm could form along or just east of I-25 late tonight, behind the main line. However, the chance for that is small. Overnight lows will be from 56° to 61°.
WEDNESDAY: Much more humid, cloudy and cooler with afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Locally heavy rain is possible. Morning lows from 56° to 61°, afternoon highs from 79° to 84°.
THURSDAY: Party cloudy with a chance for an isolated thunderstorm. Morning lows from 55° to 60°, afternoon highs from 84° to 89°.
