Record heat, extreme fire danger this week

Our trend of sunshine and 90s continues, but the chance for afternoon showers diminishes. Temps will increase this week, as will the fire danger.

OVERNIGHT AT A GLANCE: The heat is on this week with highs in the mid to upper 90s. The record for Denver Tuesday is 102 degrees set in 1989,  we'll get close!

Gusty storms this afternoon brought a brief shower or two but mainly we saw the threat of damaging winds and lightning!

Red Flag Warnings have been posted for high fire danger as winds from the south increase and temps climb close to 100 degrees this week.

TUESDAY: Sunny, calm and hot. Morning lows from 60 to 65, afternoon highs from 92 to 97.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny and hot during the day with gusty winds. Morning lows from 60 to 65, afternoon highs from 93 to 98.

THURSDAY: Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy and breezy in the afternoon. Morning lows from 59 to 64, afternoon highs from 92 to 96.

FRIDAY: Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy and breezy in the afternoon. Morning lows from 61 to 66, afternoon highs from 95 to 100.

SATURDAY: Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy and breezy in the afternoon. Morning lows from 61 to 66, afternoon highs from 95 to 100.
