It’s not just you – This September heat isn’t normal

This September heat wave is breaking all sorts of records for Denver

Denver — Monday makes it day number eight in a row in the 90’s - a new record for the month of September.

The previous record was seven consecutive days of 90 or above – and that only happened twice (1978 and 2013.)

We’ve set two new daily high-temperature records and tied three in the last week.

We are also now at 58 days in the 90s or above for 2018, which puts us in the top five the for the highest number of hot days in one year in the city.

As of Monday, we are just one day short of tying the record for the most 90 degree days in September.

Average daytime highs for this time of year are typically in the upper 70’s.
