Strong winds in Wheat Ridge late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning toppled a tree onto a house and sparked a small fire.
The West Metro Fire Protection District tweeted that the fire started after a tree fell onto power lines in the 6100 block of West 41st Avenue. No structures were damaged, firefighters say.
The tree that fell on the house was in the same area.

According to 9NEWS Meteorologist Marty Coniglio, wind gusts were upwards of 80 miles per hour in the foothills.
There were also multiple reports of downed trees in Boulder.
