10 Weather: Last day before Hurricane Ian brings major impacts

Rain chances will increase Tuesday afternoon, but tropical storm and hurricane conditions will start Wednesday into Thursday.

Cloudier skies will continue to build into the area throughout the day today. Rain chances will start to increase from south to north mainly in the afternoon.

Rain will then become widespread this evening into tonight. Winds will also start to pick up with some of the outer rain bands moving in.

Conditions will continue to go downhill throughout the day on Wednesday as the center of Ian approaches from the south. The exact track will determine where the worst storm surge is. Heavy rain and damaging winds will be widespread with tropical storm and hurricane conditions persisting Thursday and evening into Friday as the storm slows down.

The track, strength and timing of Ian is still changing. And now is the time to implement your hurricane plan and make sure you are ready by the end of Tuesday.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms. High: 88. Chance of rain: 70%.

Wednesday: Cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms as Ian approaches. High: 84. Chance of rain: 100%.

Thursday: Cloudy with scattered showers or thunderstorms as Ian blows through. High: 85. Chance of rain: 100%.
