DENVER — After a snowy day, schools around the metro area are starting to make announcements regarding school closures and delays for Wednesday.
This follows a snowstorm that first hit Colorado early Tuesday morning.
Denver Public Schools
The Denver Public School District and administrative offices will be closed Wednesday. All DPS activities and programs are also canceled for the day.
On Tuesday afternoon, the district did a staggered release of different schools.
Cherry Creek Schools
The Cherry School district announced that schools will be closed Wednesday.
Cherry Creek Schools were dismissed two hours early Tuesday and all afternoon preschool and after-care programs were canceled.
Douglas County School District
Schools in the Douglas County School district will be closed Wednesday due to "forecasted weather conditions, snow accumulation, negative wind chill values, and poor road conditions," a release from the district said.
Childcare, all events and after school activities have also been canceled.
Aurora Public Schools
Schools in the Aurora Public School district will be closed on Wednesday due to weather conditions. All events and activities have also been canceled.
APS closed their schools two hours early Tuesday.
All Englewood Schools will be closed Wednesday due to adverse weather conditions.
Littleton Public Schools
Schools at LPS will be closed Wednesday.
Adams 12 Five Star Schools
The district will be closed on Wednesday.
An early release was announced for Adams 12 Five Star Schools on Tuesday. According to the district, high schools were released at 12:30 p.m., elementary schools were released at 1:15 p.m. and middle schools at 2:15 p.m.
Adams County School District 14
Students in the Adams 14 school district will also have a snow day Wednesday.
27J Schools District
After all schools dismissed students early Tuesday, the district will be closed on Wednesday.
Middle and high schools were released at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the district tweeted. Elementary schools were dismissed at 3:00 p.m. and all after-school activities were canceled.
Boulder Valley School District
The Boulder Valley School District will be on a 2-hour delayed start Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, schools were on normal dismissal, according to a tweet. Afternoon preschool and after-school activities were canceled.
Jefferson Public Schools
JeffCo will be on a delayed start Wednesday.
The district announced all classes would start 2 hours after the regular start time and buses would pick students up 2 hours later.
On Tuesday, schools were released at their regularly scheduled time. All after-school and evening activities were canceled, according to the district's Twitter page.
