Winter storms move out of Colorado Tuesday night

A storm system is moving in from the southwest and will produce cloudy skies, cold weather and light snow for Denver and the front range throughout the afternoon.

Light accumulation is expected for Denver and the Front Range from this system. Right now, it looks like 1 to 2 inches around the urban corridor through late tonight with slightly higher amounts in our western/southwestern suburbs.

This system will have a bigger impact on southern Colorado. Winter Weather Advisories will remain in effect until 8 p.m. for southeastern Colorado, where 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected at lower elevations. Areas in the Sangre de Cristos can expect 4 to 7 inches of new snow by tonight.

Southwest Colorado will be under the Winter Weather Advisory until 5 p.m. Higher elevations will get a new 5 to 10 inches of snow. Lower elevations can expect a new 2 to 5 inches of snow.

This storm moves out late tonight, and the warmer weather quickly moves back into the Front Range.
