Winter weather continues across Colorado Monday night

The focus for snow will shift from the northern mountains to our southern mountains this evening.

The San Juans and Sangre de Cristos also are under Winter Weather Advisories starting at 5 p.m., continuing through Tuesday evening because of heavy snow and gusty winds. Look for 6 to 12 inches above 8,000 feet in those locations.

Metro Denver will see very light snow late Monday evening into early Tuesday morning. It looks like less than half an inch in Denver with slightly higher amounts in the southern and western suburbs.

Snow will continue in our southern mountains through Tuesday morning and it will take most of Tuesday to clear the skies along the Front Range. Highs will be cold, in the middle 30s for the Denver metro area.

Temperatures briefly warm back up into the low to mid 50s on Wednesday before another cool off by the end of the week.
