Woman shares her inspiring story after a ruptured brain aneurysm at 16 years old

One of our viewers reached out to tell us about her incredible journey battling a brain aneurysm - and also told us about the importance of connecting with others who have had similar life-altering events.

A few weeks ago on World Stroke Day, 9NEWS shared Maggie Whitum's story about her journey before and after her stroke. Now, Maggie is working on a documentary to be able to share her story with others.

One of our viewers, Allison Porter, was watching that day and wrote to us about her own incredible journey, and the importance of connecting with others who have had similar life-altering events.

Allison is here to tell us her incredible story of determination and courage after a brain aneurysm that ruptured when she was just 16 years old.

She tells about her life after her aneurysm, including experiencing another small brain bleed when she was 29. Allison’s perspective on life has changed and is a true inspiration for others battling their own health struggles.
