The story behind History Colorado's Denver diorama

One of History Colorado’s most well-known exhibits is the Denver Diorama. The piece depicts Denver in the 1860s but was built in the 1930s thanks to federal relief funds in the Great Depression. History Colorado says it was the first organization nationwide to use relief money on a historical preservation project. After some conservation work, it’s now on display on the museum’s second floor.
