GREELEY - The University of Northern Colorado theater professor accused of using a hidden camera to videotape male students in his home bathroom appeared in court on Thursday.
The hearing for Vance Fulkerson, 63, was more procedural than anything else. A disposition hearing was scheduled for Sept. 17.
Fulkerson appeared with at least two lawyers and did not comment himself, but one of his lawyers, Alexander Darlin, did talk with the news media.
"There are a lot of people coming forward and we're really not in a position to say too much about it other than we're sure some of it is untrue," Darlin said.
According to the arrest affidavit, not only did police find that hidden camera, they claim to have discovered child pornography in Fulkerson's home.
Fulkerson is charged with sexually exploiting children and unlawful sexual contact.
Directly after those charges were filed earlier this month, former UNC students claimed the university has sheltered Fulkerson despite several complaints in the past.
Recently, one current student sat down with 9NEWS to express his differing opinion.
"Although we were hurt and appalled and disgusted by the allegations and everything, it doesn't reflect in any way, shape or form on any of the rest of the faculty or any of the students or on UNC and how they've handled the situation," said Scottie Collins, a senior theater major at UNC.
UNC says while Fulkerson remains on paid administrative leave, part-time help will be hired to fulfill his teaching obligations.
