The Colorado Health Department says they want the three new cases to be a reminder to people not to eat the contaminated peanut butter, and to throw it out immediately.

The total number of cases in Colorado is now 13.

ConAgra recalled all Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter beginning with the 2111 code in addition to destroying all affected products in their possession.

Nationwide, a total of 425 cases of food borne illness have been reported from people eating the peanut butter. However, no deaths have been reported.

ConAgra manufactured the affected jars in a single facility in Sylvester, Georgia. FDA has sent investigators into ConAgra's processing plant where the products are made, to review records, collect product samples and conduct tests for Salmonella Tennessee.

On Thursday, Peter Pan peanut butter"s only production plant remained shut down. It has been closed since the outbreak was discovered because the FDA has not identified the source of the salmonella.

Production has been ceased by the company until an exact cause can be identified and eliminated.

Consumers with recalled peanut butter are instructed to discard the peanut butter but save the lid to receive a full refund. The lid must be returned with the consumer"s name and mailing address to ConAgra Foods, P.O. Box 3768, Omaha, NE 68103. For more information, consumers may call ConAgra at 866-344-6970 or the Department of Public Health and Environment at 303-692-3620 or visit http://www.cdc.gov.

In Colorado, Albertsons and Safeway say customers can return the recalled peanut butter with a receipt.
