Mayor John Hickenlooper has declared Thursday Denver's PJ Day, in hopes of raising awareness of homelessness. Employees of at least 12 Denver businesses will show up to work in their pajamas to show their support for Denver's Road Home.

"We've made more progress than I think anyone believed we could in the first three years," Hickenlooper explained. "We have cut chronic homelessness by over 35 percent and we've kept over 1,000 people from being evicted."

Thursday night the mayor, along with many others, will attend the fourth annual pajama party to benefit Denver's Road Home. There will be food, music, a silent auction and a bed time story read by the mayor himself.

Hickenlooper says by the end of the night they will have raised more than $500,000.

Many Denver hotels and restaurants will also show their support by donating a portion of their Thursday-night revenue to Denver's Road Home.

The event will be held at the Residence Inn by Marriott, Denver City Center located at 1725 Champa Street.

You can purchase tickets for $100 at www.denversroadhome.org
