The Breckenridge Ski Patrol transported the 33-year-old James McLean to the Breckenridge Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The resort says the snowboarder was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

In a release, the Breckenridge Ski Resort, the Breckenridge Ski Patrol and Vail Resorts extended "sympathy and support to all of his the family and friends."

Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says McLean died of a fractured neck when he landed on his head after going airborne at the ski area's terrain park on Sunday.
