This Thanksgiving, don't forget the contract

KUSA - Nothing says Thanksgiving feast like a guest liability and indemnification agreement.

The Center for Consumer Freedom is not a fan of what they call "hysteria" about the nation's expanding waistline. They feel Thanksgiving should remain a holiday for giving thanks and indulging, so they came up with a tongue and cheek waiver form for your guests to sign.

The document protects the host from lawsuits for failing to provide nutrition information or healthier food options; failure to warn against the risk of overeating; and failure to warn that eating too much and not exercising may lead to obesity, among other things.

"Dinner hosts should be able to serve that second helping of turkey and stuffing and offer a bigger slice of pumpkin pie without the fear of being sued," says Center for Consumer Freedom senior research analyst J. Justin Wilson. "From New York to California, cities across the country are forcing restaurants to label their menus with nutritional information. Mom's thanksgiving dinner table could be next."
