'Drops of Jupiter' rock band returning to Colorado this summer

Train and REO Speedwagon collectively have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and have charted 32 songs on Billboard's Hot 100.

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Grammy Award-winning rock band Train is returning to Colorado's largest outdoor amphitheater.

Train and REO Speedwagon will perform at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The bands are set to co-headline the "Summer Road Trip 2024" North American tour. The 44-date tour kicks off July 8 and continues through Sept. 11.

The tour features special guest Yacht Rock Revue.

"When I was younger, I heard a band called REO Speedwagon and fell in love with their numerous, infectious hit songs," said Train frontman Pat Monahan. "Years later I met Kevin Cronin, and thank goodness he’s as great a person as he is a songwriter. This tour won’t just be a great time with great people, but a tour that will have a ton of familiar songs to most generations. I will be wishing I was in the audience as much as I’ll love being on the stage."

"Pat Monahan and I have done several benefit shows over the years, and now we get to take out our bands for a summer full of music and fun," said REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin. "I love the idea of bringing together people of all ages, who share a common love for well-crafted songs and high energy live performances. The REO boys are stoked about this tour."

General ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2 at SaveMeSanFrancisco.com and REOSpeedwagon.com.

Citi cardmembers will have presale ticket access beginning Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m.

Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre is considered one of the best places to catch live music in Colorado each summer.

With a traditional capacity of 18,000, the venue is the largest outdoor amphitheater in the Denver metro area. Located near Interstate 25 and Orchard in the Denver Tech Center, Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre offers chair-back and lawn seating.
