CENTENNIAL- A group of volunteers met at Arapahoe High School Saturday morning to put the finishing touches on a memorial dedicated to Claire Davis, who was shot on the campus and later died from her injuries.

The space is called Clarity Commons. It's a quiet park meant to bring students together.

"More than anything, this park is really about being connected. When we're all connected, great things happen," said Jason Dunkel with Littleton Adventist Hospital.

The hospital collaborated with the high school to make the project happen.

Dozens of volunteers, many of them Arapahoe High School students, showed up to plant bushes and place benches at the park on campus. The group was led by project superintendent Dave Kenney with GE Johnson Construction, who is doing the work free of charge.

"It's not just a building, it's not just a park, it's an opportunity to help the community turn the page from something so horrific," Kenney said.
