Denver Clerk offers free Valentine's Day weddings

Lovers across Denver can tie the knot free of charge this Valentine's Day.

Judges and clergy will be performing free marriage ceremonies for couples on Valentine's Day at the Denver Clerk & Recorder's Office.

Wednesday will be Clerk and Recorder Debra Johnson's 11th annual Valentine's Day Celebration. Food and beverages will be available for the couples as well as drawings for gifts from local businesses and elected officials.

Just remember, marriage licenses will still cost $30.

The free marriages will be performed Wedneday, February 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Webb Building at 201 W. Colfax, Dept. 101.
